Why Milestone Birthday Sessions Are So Special

There’s just something so fun about celebrating a milestone birthday with a photo session 🎉

Sweet 16 sessions have quickly become some of my favorite portraits to photograph because they capture such a unique season of life — growing confidence, big dreams, personality, and all the excitement that comes with stepping into a new chapter.

This recent birthday session was extra special because not only did she absolutely rock her portraits, but she also brought meaningful props that helped tell her story. I always encourage my clients to incorporate items that reflect who they are, whether that’s sports gear, flowers, musical instruments, cap and gown photos, or sentimental keepsakes. Those little details make your gallery feel personal and timeless.

One of my favorite parts of this session was seeing her include her Bible in several photos. It was such a sweet reminder of the heart behind my business and why I love doing what I do so much. Photography is about so much more than taking pretty pictures. My goal is to help people feel seen, valued, and confident. I want to remind them that they were beautifully created in Jesus’s image.
